Manilva is the lower-priced part of the western Costa del Sol. It has a marina, a golf course and eleven named beaches, with prices well under Marbella or Sotogrande. The name covers three different places: an inland wine village, a working seafront town and a marina.
Value conscious buyers who still want real coastal lifeApartments here are still available from around 130.000 EUR. This is a much lower starting price than Marbella, Estepona or Sotogrande for genuine marina and golf access.
Retirees and lifestyle buyers who want an easy landingPuerto de la Duquesa has an active, long-standing British expat community. It has numerous expat pubs. English is widely spoken, even if you arrive with no Spanish.
Buyers who want a real, non resort Spanish townSabinillas is not trying to be a resort. It has market days, a Sunday flea market running since 1990, and seafood bars where you know the owner by name. These features are increasingly rare closer to Marbella.
Golf and marina buyers on a mid market budgetLa Duquesa Golf and Country Club sits inside Manilva itself. The golf areas of Estepona and Sotogrande are a genuinely short drive away.Manilva is not for you if you need an international school very close by or the shortest possible airport transfer on this coast. Both are easier to find in Marbella or Estepona, and we will say so.
